Job summary

RTX in Indianapolis seeks software engineers to join a mission‑critical team developing software for aerospace and defense products. You will participate in cross‑discipline teams, apply agile methods, and contribute to the development, testing and integration of complex software and systems.

The role emphasizes OO programming, memory management, and multithreading, with opportunities to lead small teams and advance technical mastery across platforms and APIs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or similar technical degree.
• Experience designing and programming with C++, Java, C# or other object‑oriented language.
• Experience developing and debugging software using OO principles and data structures.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded apps.
• Experience using Generative AI tools or ML‑assisted tech to accelerate workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in cross‑discipline, integrated product teams and apply agile software development to build, test, and integrate complex software for aerospace/defense.
• Contribute as a software team member and potentially lead a small software team.
• Work on software across Battle Management, Command & Control, Communications, and Sensor/Surveillance systems.
