Job summary

RTX is seeking an intern/co-op in Marlborough, MA, to participate in design, development, and testing of software for missiles, launchers, radars, and other systems. You will join a 4000+ strong software organization operating in a fast-paced agile environment.

The role requires enrollment in a STEM degree with 60 credits by start, strong C/C++/Java skills, and the ability to obtain a U.S. interim security clearance. This is an onsite co-op from January 2027 to August 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) STEM degree program and will be at least Junior, Senior, or post‑grad by summer 2027.
• Minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship/co-op.
• Experience with C, C++, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in requirements, design, development and testing of application software, and tools, including development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
• Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain configuration management of software products.
• Obtain and maintain a U.S. security interim clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
