Job summary

RTX is seeking an onsite internship/co-op candidate to work with industrial engineers and shop staff on manufacturing improvements. You will help design fixtures and tooling, validate solutions with laser machines and 3D printers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The role provides hands-on experience in advanced electronics manufacturing within aerospace/defense environments, with opportunities to manage multiple projects and learn from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in IE/ME/MS Engineering or related STEM through co-op.
• Completed at least 60 credit hours prior to start of internship/co-op.
• Experience with SolidWorks modeling and 3D modeling is preferred.
• Knowledge of VBA scripting and laser cutting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and shop staff to improve product flow, quality, ergonomics and safety.
• Develop or improve fixtures or tooling for manufacturing processes.
• Build, verify and implement fixtures using laser machines and 3D printers.
• Identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.
• Program and operate laser machines and 3D printers for fixture development.
