Job summary

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software Department in the summer of 2027. The role requires strong software development skills in real-time, safety-critical environments and the ability to work 100% onsite in Massachusetts.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree, have experience in C/C++, Java or Ada, and can obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.

Responsibilities

• Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department's programs.
• Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
• Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
