Job summary

SelectTech Services Corporation in Colorado Springs is seeking an Aerospace Sheet Metal Technician to assemble and fabricate major airframe structures and perform minor part fitting. You will align parts on jigs, measure with micrometers and calipers, and ensure quality per drawings and specifications.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years of depot-level experience on large aircraft, proficiency with rivets and fasteners, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5–10 years of depot-level structural installations/repairs on large military cargo aircraft or commercial equivalents.
  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and other publications; install per drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
  • Experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair/refinishing (e.g., corrosion removal/prevention).
  • Ability to install fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
  • Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Are you a skilled Aerospace Sheet Metal Technician ready to work on cutting-edge aircraft in a dynamic and supportive environment? We're looking for detail-oriented, hands-on professionals to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining the safety, performance, and integrity of aircraft structures.

As an Aerospace Sheet Metal Technician at SelectTech, you will be using your skills and expertise to assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. You will be responsible for aligning parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures and measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. You also may be responsible for modifying incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporating the changes into the structure, and monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • 5-10 years' experience performing depot level structural installations/repairs on large military cargo aircraft or commercial equivalents.
  • Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
  • Progressive experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal/prevention, as applicable
  • Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
  • May require certain certifications in field.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience operating within an AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Effective communication skills in a fast paced, complex manufacturing environment
  • Able to work as a part of a team or alone depending on complexity of installation.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License, preferred, but not required.
  • Relevant prior military service working on C-130 variant airframes.
  • Solid judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
  • Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
