Job summary

Conexus, a dynamic Aerospace & Defense company in the South Bay of Los Angeles, seeks a Technical Accounting Manager to own contract accounting under U.S. GAAP.

You will review customer contracts for ASC 606, evaluate milestones and variable consideration, and coordinate with Billing/Program teams to ensure accurate revenue and invoicing. Responsibilities include maintaining accounting memos, supporting close processes, and strengthening internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• CPA license or in progress preferred; public accounting exposure advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess contracts under U.S. GAAP, focusing on ASC 606.
• Evaluate performance obligations, transaction price, and milestones.
• Determine timing and method of revenue recognition (point-in-time vs over-time).
• Analyze contract assets, liabilities, unbilled receivables, and deferred revenue.
• Draft technical memoranda supporting GAAP conclusions.
• Support monthly/quarterly close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Assist audits with schedules, analyses, and documentation.
• Improve contract review processes and internal controls.
