Job summary

Impulse Space, located in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a Technical Accounting Manager to lead technical accounting matters with emphasis on ASC 606 revenue recognition. You will evaluate customer contracts and milestones to ensure proper accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP and support the monthly close.

Collaboration with Programs, Contracts, Operations, and Finance is essential to maintain accurate financial reporting and drive process improvements in a complex Aerospace & Defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
• Experience reviewing customer contracts for accounting purposes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts to determine accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP, with focus on ASC 606.
• Analyze contract terms related to performance obligations, milestones, acceptance criteria, and variable consideration.
• Assess implications of milestone-based billing on revenue, billing events, and accounts receivable.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Program Management, and Legal to review new contracts and amendments.
• Prepare technical accounting memorandums supporting key conclusions; research complex transactions.
