Job summary

Alliance Resource Group is partnering with a venture-backed aerospace and defense hardware company in the South Bay to hire an Accounting Manager. The role owns the close, financial reporting, and technical accounting in a fast, hardware-driven development environment.

You will work closely with the Controller, FP&A, and Operations, with real ownership and a direct hand in shaping how the accounting function matures as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing or industrial companies.
• Solid command of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition, lease accounting, and cost accounting.
• Proven ownership of full-cycle close and financial reporting.
• Preferred CPA (active or in progress); Government contracting experience (FAR/DFARS, CAS, DCAA).

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and quarterly close from start to finish, tightening the close calendar over time.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Oversee cost accounting for manufacturing operations, including inventory valuation and standard costing.
• Research complex transactions and document technical accounting conclusions in formal memos (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 470, ASC 718).
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and help build out the internal control environment.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting workflows, then carry them through to implementation.
• Provide analysis and project support for decisions across the business.

The company designs and builds advanced flight systems for U.S. government customers and operates on fast, hardware-driven development cycles. This role owns the close, financial reporting, and technical accounting while building the processes a growing manufacturer needs to scale. You will work closely with the Controller, FP&A, and Operations, with real ownership and a direct hand in shaping how the accounting function matures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the monthly and quarterly close from start to finish, tightening the close calendar over time
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven ownership of full-cycle close and financial reporting
• Comfort in an early-stage environment where processes are still being defined
• Ability to explain accounting impacts clearly to non-finance partners
• Preferred CPA (active or in progress)
• Government contracting experience (FAR/DFARS, CAS, DCAA)
• Audit background with a Big 4 or national public accounting firm

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE

• Familiarity with tools such as NetSuite, FloQast, Ramp (or comparable spend management platforms), and Microsoft Office
