Job summary

Capewell Aerial Systems in South Windsor, CT seeks a Quality Manager to lead the quality department, ensuring AS9100 and regulatory compliance while driving efficiency and continuous improvement in support of customer objectives.

The role oversees the QMS, interacts with suppliers and customers, budgets the QA function, conducts internal audits, and collaborates with production to set and enforce quality standards and procedures. Onsite, full-time role with PPE on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years in quality leadership.
• ASQ affiliation is a plus.
• Experience with AS9100 rev. D and ISO9001 is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Capewell Quality efforts and personnel
• Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and AS9100 Aerospace Standard
• Evaluate production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements
• Develop and assure Quality Assurance Department budget is maintained
• Manage internal auditing activities
• Collaborate with management and senior staff across production departments, to draft acceptable quality standards and compliance procedures
• Develop and implement quality standard testing and evaluation processes
• Assess test results and approves recommended changes
• Review quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, compliance, and relevance
• Periodically report the status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies
• Be accountable for Quality Program management and timely performance of Quality Assurance Department tasks
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Work cooperatively with other employees to meet department and company goals.
• This position requires personal protective equipment on the shop floor where safety glasses and composite toe safety shoes are required by all.
