Job summary

Actalent is looking for a Quality Manager to lead a 16-person Quality Department in Phoenix, driving a culture of quality and compliance in aerospace manufacturing. You will work with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve processes, manage supplier quality, and lead audits.

The role emphasizes hands-on floor presence and data-driven decisions. Requires 10+ years in quality engineering, AS9100/NADCAP experience, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years in Quality Engineering within manufacturing.
• Experience with root cause analysis using 5 Whys and fishbone diagrams.
• Direct interaction with customers and suppliers on quality matters.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and schematics.
• Aerospace or highly regulated industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the Quality Department and mentor staff.
• Establish quality goals, metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma projects and defect prevention initiatives.
• Plan and lead internal and support external audits; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain AS9100, NADCAP, FAA, JAA, ISO9001 and customer requirements.
• Manage customer/regulatory relationships and audits.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain to improve processes.
• Oversee supplier quality and drive corrective actions.
• Lead CAPA activities and PPAP/APQP processes for machined components.
• Spend time on the production floor and balance quality with production needs.
