Job summary

Vast is seeking a Quality/Receiving Inspector (1st and 2nd shift) for its Long Beach, CA facility to support hardware development and production for human-rated space systems. You will perform inspections across receiving, in-process, and final stages, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years quality inspection experience in aerospace/defense/high-reliability environments.
• Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection of hardware.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment and reading drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation of inspection results.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on components and assemblies.
• Inspect mechanical, structural, electrical, and hardware for workmanship and conformance.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread/ pin gauges, borescopes, and torque tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, and inspection plans to determine acceptance.
• Verify features, torque, surface conditions, and workmanship; document results.
• Support production by performing inspections throughout manufacturing and assembly.
• Identify nonconformances and coordinate disposition with QA, manufacturing, and engineering.
• Maintain calibration and cleanliness of inspection tools; document traceability.
• Assist in First Article Inspections (FAI) and other inspection activities.
