Job summary

Vast is seeking a Quality/Receiving Inspector (1st & 2nd Shift) to support hardware development and production at our Long Beach, CA facility. This full-time, non-exempt role requires thorough inspections across components and assemblies using precision tools.

You will interpret drawings, document results, and help resolve nonconformances with cross-functional teams. The position emphasizes safety, calibration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in aerospace/defense or high-reliability manufacturing.
• Experience inspecting hardware dimensions and workmanship.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.
• Proficient with precision measurement equipment.
• Strong documentation and traceability skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on components, subassemblies, and integrated hardware to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Inspect mechanical, structural, electrical, and/or manufactured hardware for workmanship, configuration, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to requirements.
• Use precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, borescopes, torque tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection plans to determine acceptance criteria.
• Verify dimensional features, hardware installation, torque requirements, surface conditions, and overall workmanship as applicable.
• Maintain inspection records and support First Article Inspections (FAI).
