Job summary

Impulse Space is hiring a Precision Inspector (2nd Shift) in Redondo Beach to perform in-process inspections on spacecraft and engine hardware using drawings, CAD models, and established processes. The role works with CMM programmers to complete final inspections and ensure conformance to design requirements.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in aerospace inspection, knowledge of metrology or CMM hardware, and familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4+ years of inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, military or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with metrology or CMM hardware.
• Experience with quality assurance principles, methods and processes.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, structural, or propulsion assemblies.
• Experience with electronic testing and inspections using portable measuring devices.
• Knowledge of safety programs and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-process inspections on spacecraft and engine hardware using drawings, CAD models, and processes.
• Work with CMM programmers and perform final inspection.
• Identify and document production and test anomalies and pursue corrective action.
• Communicate quality issues with engineering departments.
• Document production non-conformances per procedures.
• Support quality management system policies and continual improvement initiatives.
