Job summary

K2 Space Corporation in Los Angeles is hiring a Quality Inspector to perform receiving and in-process inspections of aerospace hardware supporting satellite production, collaborating with Production, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering to ensure drawings, specifications and workmanship requirements are met while maintaining pace in a scaling production environment.

The role requires 3+ years in aerospace or regulated manufacturing, strong GD&T skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

• 3+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T fundamentals.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and techniques.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for tracking inventory and inspection results.
• Knowledge of ITAR and export compliance requirements.
• Ability to independently make sound inspection decisions in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed incoming inspection of mechanical parts, electronic assemblies, harnesses, flight hardware, and other production material.
• Verify hardware against drawings, purchase requirements, specifications, certifications, and applicable quality requirements.
• Perform dimensional inspection with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools.
• Review supplier documentation including certificates of conformance, material certifications, inspection reports, and FAIR documentation.
• Record inspection results and maintain hardware traceability within ERP, MES, and QMS.
• Identify and initiate nonconformance records for discrepant hardware.
