Job summary

ACE Thermal Systems in Thornton, CO is seeking a Quality Inspector II/III to perform bench and floor inspections of aircraft parts and materials. You will conduct first article and conformity inspections, using CMMs and precision instruments, reviewing drawings and revisions to ensure right specifications are met.

You will also audit suppliers, prepare ECO requests, and maintain documentation per AS9102 and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience minimum in a quality assurance / inspection position is required.
• Experience with ISO or AS9100 processes and procedures is required, Part 21 preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other related literature is necessary.
• Familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) skills.
• Familiar with Windows Operating System®, MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
• Ability to be onsite Monday – Friday, at the Thornton, CO facility is required. With the ability for 9-10 hours work days sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Review shipping objective daily to establish inspection priorities.
• Reviewing aging MO list in ERP to establish additional daily priorities.
• Inspect components, subassemblies, and final product and paperwork.
• Inspect incoming shipments per lot sampling table or ERP requirements.
• Proficiently use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gauge, torque wrenches).
• Review and approve supplier first article inspection reports.
• Prepare accurate Engineering Change Requests.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI/FAIR) per AS9102 and company procedures.
• Read and interpret all engineering drawings to ensure correct revision.
• Issue first pass yield findings and write MRB documents.
• Resolve technical issues with engineering, supply chain and QA management.
• Cross-training others within the team.
