Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in East Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform final and in-process inspections of aerospace engine parts. You will develop and correlate PC-DMIS programs and verify measurements with CMMs and hard gaging.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace/n manufacturing inspection, strong reading of blueprints, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent benefits and overtime flexibility are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience in aerospace/manufacturing.
• Proficient in PC-DMIS with ability to read, write and correlate programs.
• Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in aerospace.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and customer specifications.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, hand gages, micrometers, swing gages and other measuring tools.
• Strong manufacturing background and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections.

Responsibilities

• Final and in-process inspection of aerospace engine parts and components.
• Create, edit and correlate PC-DMIS programs using a solid model and print.
• Inspection includes visual and dimensional checks using a CMM and hard gaging.
• Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to confirm parts meet customer criteria.
• Ensure all parts inspected meet customer criteria.
• Process required paperwork if a part is defective or needs re-work.
• May require overtime based on business needs.
• Familiar with building and calibrating hard gaging is a plus.
