Job summary

EXPANSIA, operating within the Aether Aerospace defense technology platform, seeks a skilled Quality Inspector in Hollywood, MD. The role focuses on inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.

The candidate will use CMMs, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauging fixtures, and must be able to document results accurately.

Qualifications

• 1+ year quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100D standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify conformance with specifications and quality standards.
• Utilize measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauging fixtures, to conduct accurate measurements.
• Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Inspection Arm/Scanner to inspect complex parts and assemblies.
• Conduct visual inspections to identify defects, abnormalities, or non-conformities in products or materials.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of inspections, including detailed reports and data analysis.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to address non-conformities.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations to determine the cause of quality issues and assist in implementing effective preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with ISO9001/2015 and AS9100D standards and actively contribute to maintaining and improving the quality management system.
• Communicate effectively with production personnel, engineers, and other stakeholders to address quality concerns and provide guidance on quality requirements.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, new inspection techniques, and emerging quality standards.
