Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Quality Engineer in the West Texas Van Horn site to establish and maintain quality system processes for development and production environments. You will measure, analyze, and improve quality performance while reviewing manufacturing documents and conducting AS9100 audits.

The role collaborates with product design, management, and manufacturing teams to mitigate quality risks, perform root cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement across the program, including

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering.
• 0-1 years of experience.
• Familiarity with aerospace industry and passion for space technology.
• Excellent communication skills, organized, attention to detail, and self-starter.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Nonconforming and MRB process.
• Knowledge on how to read engineering drawings and identify requirements
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection per AS9102.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Knowledge in causal analysis tools, including FMEA, 5-why, fault tree analysis, etc.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments.
• Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals.
• Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.
• Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100.
• Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs.
• Recommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality.
• Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test for the Manufacturing team.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness.
