Job summary

AeroPlastics Inc in Renton, WA is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure AS9100 QMS compliance, manage nonconformances, and lead CAPA across manufacturing. You will prepare FAIRs, participate in MRB, and drive continuous quality improvement with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes risk-based quality management, supplier audits, and maintaining thorough quality documentation to support delivery of compliant aerospace products. Travel within North America may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in quality/manufacturing/process in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in GD&T and reading engineering drawings and process documentation.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102; FAIR preparation preferred.
• Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, SPC, Lean/Six Sigma preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Minitab, ERP/MRP systems, customer portals, and electronic QMS platforms.
• Data-driven improvement using Excel, Minitab, SPC, trends, and basic statistics.
• Strong collaboration with manufacturing, inspection, engineering, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure AS9100 QMS compliance by translating requirements into inspection plans, manufacturing controls, and quality records.
• Protect product safety and conformity by identifying quality risks and verifying controls before delivery.
• Lead nonconformance, MRB, and CAPA investigations with effective closure.
• Prepare and submit FAIR/FAI and supporting evidence to verify conformance.
• Audit readiness and objective evidence for AS9100 requirements across internal, supplier, and customer audits.
• Improve supplier quality through audits, scorecards, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, inspection, program management, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturability.
• Maintain quality documentation, certifications, inspection records, and status reporting for open actions.
• Use data and trend analysis to reduce variation and improve process performance.
