Job summary

Rantec Power Systems Inc. in Los Osos, CA, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead a team of QA engineers and drive supplier quality to meet AS9100 requirements.

You will develop QA procedures, manage personnel, and coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure conformance and continuous improvement across programs. Candidates should have extensive QA leadership experience in aerospace/electronics and familiarity with PPAP/FAI processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or manufacturing related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience supervising Quality Engineers and QA personnel.
• Experience in electronics, military and commercial aviation products.
• FAA quality practices and PMA procedures understanding.
• Experience with AS9100, AS9145, AS9102.
• Proficiency with PPAP, 8D, Ishikawa and related quality tools.
• Lean Six Sigma a plus; strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA Engineers to ensure supplier delivery quality and AS9100 compliance.
• Develop and implement quality procedures and write reports on the quality program.
• Manage QA staffing, performance goals, mentoring and development.
• Coordinate QA resources with engineering and manufacturing.
• Approve PPAP/FAI packages and develop inspection plans and controls.
• Ensure document control and calibration compliance per standards.
• Support internal cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Oversee First Article Inspection and APQP/PPAP activities as required.
• Maintain liaison with engineering/business development on new projects.
