Job summary

Rantec Power Systems, Inc is seeking a Quality Control Engineer L2 to lead QA/QC activities in a rigorous aerospace environment. You will mentor engineers, perform audits, and drive nonconforming material containment with the QC manager.

The role requires strong root-cause analysis, APQP experience, and familiarity with AS9100D, J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610. Excellent communication and collaboration across design, procurement, and production are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree desirable; 10+ yrs quality experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with APQP and quality program planning is desirable.
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection per AS9102 is desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of SPC tools and QA methodologies.
• QC Engineer experience in aerospace design/manufacturing is preferred.
• 3+ years in an AS9100-certified organization.
• Electrical/mechanical inspection knowledge per J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; multi-tasking ability.
• Proven decision-making when evaluating acceptance/rejection of materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal QMS audits across processes and areas.
• Evaluate design outputs and approve configuration changes.
• Provide technical and compliance support to design and production activities.
• Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) when required.
• Participate in customer quality assessments and audits.
• Train Quality personnel in areas like ESD and FOD control.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in QA processes.
• Review ECNs and sign off on acceptable changes.
• Interface with inspectors, suppliers, and customers on quality matters.
• Lead MRB meetings and manage containment actions.
• Maintain and improve the QMS and AS9100D compliance.
• Generate and address Quality Alerts as needed.
