Job summary

SDM Composites is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect precision machined 3- and 5-axis parts and sheet metal components through the manufacturing process and final inspection before shipment. You will analyze work instructions, drawings, and BOMs to ensure conformance with specifications and AS9102 FAI requirements.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and tolerances per ANSI Y14.5M.
• Perform First Article and AS9102 FAI documentation.
• Experience inspecting precision 3- to 5-axis parts and sheet metal.

Responsibilities

• Follow Instructions and procedures.
• Read blueprints and interpret features with ANSI Y14.5M.
• Translate dimensions from blueprints using shop math.
• Interpret standards and specifications correctly.
• Use inspection tools (micrometer, caliper, indicator, surface plate, profilometer).
• Inspect geometric features (roughness, concentricity, flatness, runout, perpendicularity, parallelism).
• Read rejection documentation and related forms.
• Perform First Article Detail and AS9102 FAI for products.
• Process Net-Inspect AS9102 FAI’s.
• Conduct Receiving, Warehouse Release, Grading, Peel Testing, OP, Shipping and Final Inspections.
• Meet productivity goals and perform additional duties as assigned.
