Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Plano, TX seeks a Project Manager I to lead projects from design through release and closeout, delivering on time and within budget. You will define plans, schedules, budgets, and coordinate resources for internal and external stakeholders on technical matters.

The role targets smaller projects and serves as an intro to people management, with essential security clearance required and a hybrid work setup balancing office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a project.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills and capability to meet schedules.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from design to release, including project initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
• Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify necessary resources for projects and coordinate their allocation.
• Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters.
• Manage simple projects such as studies, small task orders, Internal Research and Development, Level of Effort, services only, spares, or projects with minimal deliverables.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager on larger programs as needed.
• Track project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
• Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
• Adapt to changes and remain flexible to ensure project success.
