Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Sparks, NV is seeking a Project Manager I to lead projects from design through release and closeout. You will develop plans, schedules, and budgets, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters in a fast-paced environment.

The role introduces people management and typically handles smaller projects while enabling growth into larger programs. A hybrid work approach is possible depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field.
• Alternate qualifications may apply in lieu of a degree with related experience.
• PM Certification is a plus (PMP).
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency and experience with project management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from design to release, including initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
• Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify necessary resources for projects and coordinate their allocation.
• Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters.
• Manage simple projects such as studies, small task orders, Internal Research and Development, Level of Effort, services only, spares, or projects with minimal deliverables.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager on larger programs as needed.
• Track project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
• Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
• Adapt to changes and remain flexible to ensure project success.
