Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Plano, TX is seeking a Project Engineer II to manage product lifecycle from concept to delivery, interfacing with internal teams and external customers to ensure on-time, on-budget results.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, 10+ years of engineering experience with leadership, strong system design, requirements management, EVMS/CAM duties, and the ability to work in a hybrid office environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong project management and multi-disciplinary design experience.
• Experience with requirements management and system design.
• Familiarity with EVMS CAM duties and program cost/schedule control.
• INCOSE certification or equivalent systems engineering credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Support preparation of technical review artifacts (PDR, CDR, TIMs, weekly IPT reviews).
• Support Mission Systems COMMS IPT execution by coordinating technical inputs, schedules, risks, and dependencies across other teams.
• Customer Interface: Act as a primary point of contact for external customers on technical matters, ensuring their requirements are met.
• Status Reporting: Prepare comprehensive status reports, including progress updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Issue Resolution: Identify project issues, develop resolution plans, and implement contingency strategies.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project management.
• Risk Management: Develop and manage risk identification, documentation, and mitigation planning.
