Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Project Manager I to lead projects from design through release and closeout, coordinating resources and stakeholders across engineering and logistics. You will develop plans, manage budgets, track milestones, and report progress, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery in a fast-paced, hybrid work setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, 2+ years of PM experience, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field, internships not included in total years of experience.
• Relevant experience can be substituted for education; in absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years related experience is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a project.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to meet schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional engineering and logistics teams.
• Capacity to adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail when tracking project data, milestones, and documentation.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks or small projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from design to release, including project initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
• Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify necessary resources for projects and coordinate their allocation.
• Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters.
• Manage simple projects such as studies, small task orders, internal research and development, level of effort, services only, spares, or small projects.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager on larger programs as needed.
• Track project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
• Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
• Adapt to changes and remain flexible to ensure project success.
• Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Sustainment Engineering, ILS, Tech Pubs, Configuration Management, and Liaison Engineering.
