Job summary

Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems (KUAS), a division of Kratos Defense, seeks Mechanical/Structures Engineers to design and document aerospace hardware. You will develop mechanical and fluid systems, integrate components, and prepare CAD drawings and ICDs for manufacturing.

Levels I–IV cover escalating leadership and project scope within a defense-focused, onsite team. The role requires BS in Mechanical/Structures Engineering, 0+ to 11+ years depending on level, and ability to work with composites

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance (as required).
• Experience or coursework in mechanical design with composites and metals.
• Familiarity with aerospace hardware documentation and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Design components from composite and metallic materials and integrate hardware into complex assemblies.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, parts lists, and interface control documents (ICDs).
• Apply GD&T and perform tolerance studies to ensure affordable, practical designs.
• Support testing, data reduction, and reporting for mechanical structures and assemblies.
