Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a Project Manager to lead assigned Parker projects, manage non-recurring engineering costs, and serve as the focal point for internal and external stakeholders. This role emphasizes leadership of a matrix team, customer engagement, and adherence to program management practices.

Responsibilities include charter development, baseline planning, risk analysis, and ongoing status reporting. Strong PM experience and PM methodology knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in engineering, science, business, or a related field; PMI training; PMP or CAPM within 6 months.
  • 8+ years related experience; 2+ years leading multiple projects of varying complexity.
  • Experience with high-technology customers, products, and processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of PM processes and tools (scheduling, cost, change control, risk).
  • Proficiency with project management tools, including scheduling, cost management, change control, time management, scope/resources, WBS, risk management.
  • Strong communication and customer advocacy to fulfill requirements.
  • Interpersonal and negotiation skills with varied audiences.
  • Financial analysis and budgeting experience, with cost, contract terms, and profit decisions.
  • Regulatory compliance knowledge.
  • Ability to coach and develop the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer requirements are met and align with Parker by creating program charter, baseline plan, and PM components.
  • Plan tasks in line with goals and contractual objectives.
  • Propose changes and execute project charters for defined areas.
  • Identify issues and develop action plans to improve performance (scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality).
  • Ensure process compliance and facilitate product/tech gate reviews.
  • Communicate project status to Division staff, management, and customers; elevate issues as needed.
  • Identify ways to improve productivity and adopt PM methodologies.
  • Allocate resources with functional managers and monitor budgetary controls.
  • Monitor baseline budget and integrated schedule with related teams.
