Qualifications

  • Knowledge of program management processes and architecture.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and cross‑functional teams.
  • Understanding of aerospace contracting, procurement and production.
  • Ability to analyze complex policies and financial reports.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills.

Program Manager (Aerospace)

Job Description: The Program Manager (Aerospace) will manage and be accountable for the contract performance for programs or a set of related projects to achieve programmatic business objectives throughout the program lifecycle. The role serves as the customer support and ensures effective program management processes, schedule, cost, resources, risk, program change management, and commitments to customers are met.

Responsibilities
  • Manages a program or combination of programs of broad scope and complexity, typically for large or diverse sets of customers.
  • Responsible for integrated program schedules, data integration, tracking of financial and quality performance, and implementation of corrective actions for all areas of program responsibility.
  • Ensures successful customer relationships by responding to all customer requests, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned program activities, status and problem resolution, and negotiating contract changes related to scope management.
  • Serves as key presenter and facilitator at major program reviews, ensuring meeting actions are documented and communicated.
  • Acts as a consultant to management on specific programs or overall program management, establishing goals and objectives required to complete programs, and providing mentoring to program management and leadership teams.
  • Works closely with internal marketing and external sales teams to pursue new opportunities emerging from existing programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, business, or a related field; advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing industry.
  • PMP certification required, typically within 6 months of assignment; additional certifications (e.g., PMI‑PMP) preferred.
  • Prior program or significant project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the job, typically acquired through five to seven years of related experience.
  • Expert knowledge and proficiency with program management processes, methodology, and architecture.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate business skills and lead multiple projects, professional staff, and cross‑functional matrixed teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and the marketplace associated with fielded products or services.
  • In‑depth knowledge of aerospace commercial or military contracting and procurement requirements, as well as financial, labor cost systems, and production processes.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex policies, contractual language, and financial reports.
  • Ability to respond to and negotiate with customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills to various levels of management, customers, and suppliers.
