Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CMM SOURCE INSPECTOR to perform precision inspections on parts at supplier sites. You will program CMMs and Romer Arm setups, verify feature tolerances against ASME Y14.5, and review certifications and drawings to ensure SpaceX standards are met.

Expect up to 75% travel across the US. Candidates should have 3+ years in precision inspection and CMM experience, with aerospace quality systems exposure preferred. Texas residence is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
• 3+ years of CMM programming, CMM operations, or Faro Arm experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 + GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 75% domestically to inspect parts and assemblies at supplier sites.
• Select and use standard gauges to ensure quality.
• Inspect feature tolerances with appropriate instruments and CMMs.
• Review documentation, certifications and conformance to specs.
• Support development of supplier inspection plans and corrective actions.
• Program and set up Romer Arm and CMMs to achieve inspections.
