Job summary

RTX is seeking intern level engineers for the Effector Analog & Power (EAP) Team to design robust power systems for telemetry, flight termination, and servo electronics. Projects span from concept to integration, with power stages typically under 10 kW and voltages under 1000 V, requiring careful thermal and noise control.

You will work under senior engineers to analyze, test, and document power conversion circuits, guide layout during PCB design, and present results to program leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the internship/co‑op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session.
• Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with one or more of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck‑boost.
• Familiarity using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or other similar tools.
• Coursework related to analog electronics design, including at least one of the following: FETs/BJTs, op‑amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry.
• This circuitry will dominantly involve non-isolated and isolated switch mode power converters and linear converters.
• Main emphasis is on board-mounted power end use applications.
• Help to see circuit card development through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
• Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, with support from senior engineers.
• Function as an individual contributor.
• Understand the role of a small team and engage in personal technical growth.
• Clearly present your work product to functional and program leadership.
