Job summary

Awetomaton seeks a Research Scientist to support Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The role focuses on physics modeling and simulation, leveraging Python to derive insights from sensor data and optimize R&D algorithms.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering or related fields with 3–5 years of modeling and simulation experience, plus expertise in aerodynamics and software deployment concepts such as containers and databases.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field with 3+ years in modeling and simulation
• 3+ years in vehicle aerodynamics in supersonic/hypersonic regimes
• 1+ year of Python experience
• Mastery of software configuration management using Git

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize physics-based modeling algorithms in Python
• Work with a team to enhance R&D algorithms for sensor data insights
• Deploy algorithms with containerization and database concepts
• Collaborate with stakeholders at WPAFB and internal teams
