Job summary

Astrion in Columbia, Maryland seeks a Senior Aerospace SME – Coding to develop high-fidelity models of aerospace and missile systems. You will advance trajectory analyses, perform 3DOF/6DOF simulations, and build numeric methods and tools for government customers.

The role requires a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and 4+ years of experience with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++. A TS/SCI clearance is preferred and beneficial for success in the position.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • At least 4 years of work experience (or 2 years with a PhD).
  • US citizens with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Significant experience in aerospace modeling, simulation, or analysis.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, verify, and analyze high-fidelity models and simulations of aerospace and missile systems.
  • Perform trajectory modeling and analysis, including 3DOF and 6DOF vehicle simulations.
  • Develop and apply methods for trajectory estimation, optimization, and prediction.
  • Model vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, guidance, navigation, and control systems.
  • Develop software tools to support engineering analysis, modeling, and visualization.
  • Communicate findings to government customers through technical briefings and reports.
