Job summary

Awetomaton is seeking a Research Scientist to support existing customers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. You will work with a team of 6-8 to enhance and optimize R&D algorithms from sensor data using Python and modern libraries.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering or related field with 3–5 years in modeling and simulation, plus 1+ year Python experience and Git proficiency. Active Top Secret clearance is required; the role will be performed largely from WPAFB.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in engineering or related field with 3-5 years of experience.
• 3+ years modeling and simulation focused engineering experience.
• 3+ years vehicle aerodynamics experience in supersonic and hypersonic regimes.
• 1+ year Python experience.
• Mastery of Git for software configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to enhance and optimize R&D algorithms from sensor data.
• Write Python software using modern libraries and software engineering practices.
• Role largely performed from Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH.
