Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated in the Los Angeles area is seeking an Operations Manager (Aerospace) to lead a manufacturing line and manage product line P&L. The role emphasizes achieving KPI and CPI targets on the factory floor through effective problem solving and decision making.

The candidate will supervise department supervisors, plan production schedules, ensure safety and discipline, drive cost reductions, mentor staff, and manage budgets with regular reporting to the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four-year college or university.
• 3–5 years related manufacturing experience.
• Experience in Aerospace manufacturing is desirable.
• Experienced with CNC machines and equipment.
• Familiarity with earned hours, overhead rates, and factor costs.

Responsibilities

• Exercises direct supervision over departmental supervisors to achieve schedules, quality, and efficiency on a line-item basis.
• Plans production schedule for the designated manufacturing area in an effort to meet sales order book.
• Accountable for maintaining discipline in accordance with company policy and for maintaining health and safety regulations and their enforcement.
• Participates in the decision-making process for improvements to reduce scrap and overall costs.
• Mentor’s supervisors to improve their skills and growth. Develop operator training matrix to improve quality and efficiency.
• Follows and administers budgets determined by Plant Manager. Prepare reports outlining progress as it pertains to departmental budget guidelines.
• Utilizes the annual evaluation process as a communication tool with employees for goal setting and development programs.
