Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking an Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering intern to support development of a lunar deployment mechanism for a NASA Langley project. You will design with PTC Creo, perform initial sizing using beam theory, and help minimize mass while preserving structural integrity.

The role requires background in statics/dynamics, strong communication, and the ability to prepare clear assembly drawings and presentations. This onsite internship is based in Hampton, VA.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in aerospace/mechanical engineering.
• Foundational CAD/Cre0 experience and ability to create models and drawings.
• Fundamental knowledge of statics, dynamics, Strength of Materials and manufacturing design.
• Strong communication and ability to present design choices clearly.
• Progress toward a technical degree; US citizenship or permanent residency per ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Iterative design using PTC Creo for airframes and testing hardware.
• Initial sizing using beam theory and strength of materials.
• Mass optimization to meet flight performance margins.
• Create GD&T drawings for parts and assemblies for manufacturing.
