Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our mechanical engineering organization, providing both people leadership and technical direction across multiple programs. This role builds a high-performing team, establishes robust engineering processes, and ensures successful program delivery from concept through in-orbit support for aerospace and space applications.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years in mechanical design/analysis for aerospace or space systems.
• 1–3 years of engineering management experience.
• Experience with electronics packaging at PCBA and system levels.
• Knowledge of environmental testing and space hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of mechanical engineers across programs.
• Define team structure, roles and responsibilities to meet objectives.
• Lead mechanical architecture development, trade studies and design decisions.
• Oversee system-level requirements definition, validation and interface management.
• Lead internal/external design reviews and present to customers and leadership.
