Job summary

CesiumAstro seeks a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead spacecraft mechanical design from concept to orbit, directing a small team and coordinating across structures, thermal, mechanisms, electrical, and AI&T disciplines.

You will own requirements and architecture trades, oversee analysis, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and in-orbit support, and collaborate with multiple teams while presenting to customers and executives.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of relevant spacecraft mechanical experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across structures, thermal, mechanisms, electrical, and AI&T.
• Strong GD&T, manufacturing, assembly, test, reliability knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers for spacecraft mechanical development through all phases.
• Define requirements, architecture trades, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and space flight support.
• Collaborate with GNC, EPS, CDH, Payload, RF, Systems, and AI&T teams.
• Present design reviews to customers and executives; support proposals.
