Job summary

Blue Origin in Florida is seeking a design-focused engineer to manage the full lifecycle of Umbilical hardware for the New Glenn program. You will create 3D models, drawings, and interface documents, and provide on-site manufacturing support.

The role emphasizes design updates driven by flight data, rigorous tooling, and collaboration across manufacturing, production, and test teams to maintain launch cadence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years designing aerospace or equivalent mechanical systems.
• Experience with 3D CAD (Creo preferred) and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Familiarity with manufacturing, integration, and quality control in aerospace hardware.

Responsibilities

• Manage new design solutions and continuous improvements for launch vehicle Umbilicals assemblies.
• Create design artifacts: 3D models, detail/assembly/installation drawings, interface control documents.
• Provide on-site guidance for manufacturing, production, and test activities.
• Perform root cause analyses and corrective actions for hardware non-conformances.
• Coordinate design updates with manufacturing and launch operations teams.
