Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle, WA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design aerospace mechanical structures, provide thermal and structural analysis, and develop electronics packaging for flight hardware as part of the Lunar Permanence team.

You will collaborate with RF and electrical engineers, create 3D CAD models, perform tests (vibration, thermal vacuum), and contribute to build, test, and launch readiness across design, analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years designing aerospace mechanical structures or related flight-qualified hardware.
• Experience with static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal analysis.
• 3D CAD modeling (Creo preferred).
• FEA tools (Ansys preferred).
• GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Ability to balance multiple projects and communicate results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to cross-disciplinary design in a fast-paced environment.
• Design flight hardware structures and electronics packaging, with thermal/structural analyses.
• Create specs and documentation for precision structures and assemblies.
• Collaborate with RF and electrical teams to integrate electronics into robust assemblies.
• Plan and conduct vibration, shock, thermal cycle tests and review data.
