Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to develop mechanical designs for aerospace products from concept to qualification. You will apply thermal management, structural analyses, CAD (SolidWorks) and GD&T to deliver robust assemblies for satellites and airborne platforms.

The ideal candidate holds a BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least two years of industry experience in electronics packaging or spacecraft structures, plus familiarity with EMI/EMC

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2 years in design and analysis of electronics packaging or spacecraft structures.
• Experience with CAD tools and SolidWorks Simulation.
• Experience with CNC manufacturing and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical design of components, assemblies, and hardware for products and manufacturing.
• Perform engineering analyses, tolerance studies, and design trade studies.
• Review drawings, CAD models, specifications, and documentation to support decisions.
• Conduct mechanical testing, qualification, and validation activities.
• Develop drawings, 3D models, reports, BOMs, and change documentation.
