Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of ground support equipment for payloads and satellite systems, using NX and related tools. The role emphasizes prototype and production-level design, with strong collaboration across multiple spacecraft design teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• Experience with prototyping and implementation
• Experience with PCBA fabrication and electronic enclosures design
• Experience with fiber-optic handling
• Experience with CAD design in NX, TeamCenter
• Experience in DFM/DFA and manufacturing process development
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Experience with production fixturing and tooling

Responsibilities

• Lead development of 3D/2D mechanical designs and analysis for manufacturing GSE for payloads and satellite systems in Siemens NX
• Collaborate with spacecraft design and integration teams across multiple sites in a fast-paced environment
• Perform design reviews, build and qualify fixtures, and support tooling development
• Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to optimize manufacturability
