Job ID: 10579317 | Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable broadband connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From households to small businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve communities and organizations operating in places without dependable internet access.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be a member of the Amazon Leo Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) team, focusing on the design of the various mechanical ground support equipment, including assembly, alignment, and testing fixturing and tooling.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
  • In this role, you will be expected to lead a variety of tasks, developing 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis specifically for manufacturing GSE for payloads satellite systems in Siemens NX. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production level designs, with competency on PCBA fabrication, and fiber-optic handling.
  • We're looking for a mechanical engineer with aerospace/defense background, and a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.
