Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Tooling & Test Equipment Design Engineer to craft tooling and fixtures for satellite battery systems and PCBA assembly. You will translate requirements into robust production-ready equipment and lead cross-functional design reviews.

The role demands hands-on prototyping, strong mechanical design skills, and the ability to scale prototypes into reliable production equipment, improving throughput and quality across programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications and test procedures.
• Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• Experience designing fixtures, tooling, automation, or test setups.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD Siemens NX and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware requirements and specifications; design components using CAD; validate with prototyping and testing.
• Lead projects by breaking systems into sub-components and coordinating parallel development.
• Create test plans; use FMEA to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners from prototype to production readiness.
• Mentor engineers, participate in design reviews, and promote best practices.
