Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Co-op in Collins Aerospace’s Mechanical Controls product line in Windsor Locks, CT. The role involves evaluating hydraulic/pneumatic requirements to develop hardware designs for airframe and engine systems, using 1D models and CFD/FEA verification.

Eligible students must pursue a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and have at least 45 credit hours by the start of the internship/co-op.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 45 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer and subsystem hydraulic and/or pneumatic component requirements to generate compliant hardware designs.
• Generate physics-based performance models (1D) and verify using CFD.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering, Dynamic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Drafting, and Structures on integrated teams.
