Job summary

Collins Aerospace in the United States is seeking a Principal Equipment Engineer to support build-to-print and supplier‑designed mechanical equipment systems for nacelle development and legacy programs. You will drive technical direction and project progression, collaborating with global teams, suppliers, and customers.

The role requires experience with mechanical aircraft components, DO-160 testing, and DFMEA per AS9145, plus strong presentation skills and the ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and minimum 8 years of experience or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
• Experience with design and qualification requirements for mechanical aircraft components.
• Experience delivering presentations to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Act as project manager for assigned mechanical equipment components throughout the product life cycle.
• Ensure on-time delivery of quality products and documentation; establish relationships with global teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Resolve technical issues by working with key stakeholders; serve as primary contact for cross-functional teams and supply base.
• Support the requirements, design, and qualification of mechanical equipment components; drive root-cause investigations as needed.
• Travel up to 25% as required for supplier visits and project execution.
