Job summary

RTX and Pratt & Whitney seek an experienced engineer to execute Engineering Source Approval activities for conventional machining and special processes in aerospace manufacturing.

You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely qualifications, review process data, and strengthen manufacturing consistency. The role requires a technical degree in engineering and extensive experience in quality/engineering within aerospace settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ with an advanced degree.
• 5+ years of experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, materials, or aerospace functions.

Responsibilities

• Execute Engineering Source Approval activities for conventional machining and special processes (milling, turning, grinding, drilling, broaching, welding, brazing, and surface treatments).
• Collaborate with supplier engineering teams and internal Engineering, Procurement, and Quality to complete process approvals, evaluate changes, and resolve technical variations.
• Manage approval schedules and resources to ensure timely, rigorous, and compliant qualifications of aerospace manufacturing processes.
• Review and validate process operation sheets, process monitoring methods, NDE techniques, and destructive metallurgical testing results.
• Analyze and document process performance, prepare technical reports, and develop standard work to strengthen manufacturing consistency.
