Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled Technician with experience in Materials & Process labs to ensure safe and efficient operations. You will perform material testing, prepare samples, and communicate results to stakeholders as part of a collaborative team.

The role supports mission-driven goals to enable affordable, reusable spaceflight and requires attention to detail, safety, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years in material test laboratories or similar environment.
  • Experience with engineering lab skills: weights and measures, chemical hygiene, materials safety planning, PPE, contamination control, planning.
  • Ability to operate manual machine tools (saws, routers).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive project and task execution to meet dates.
  • Extremely customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication.
  • A continuous improvement mindset; our job is never complete; we are always optimizing.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials.
  • Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekdays if/when necessary.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or eligible per regulations

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing per industry standard test methods in a Process Development Lab and Load Frame Test Lab.
  • Machine and prepare laboratory samples for testing
  • Summarize, document, and communicate results to stakeholders
  • Develop standard methods, training material, and related documentation for laboratory processes
  • Demonstrate strict attention to detail in executing laboratory analyses
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Identify new equipment to expand laboratory capability and improve responsiveness
  • Safely work with hazardous systems containing chemicals, heat, and/or high pressure
