Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Specialist, Materials Process Engineer in Canoga Park, CA to develop and qualify welding processes for aerospace metallic components and support production activities. The role requires hands-on welding experience, process documentation, and collaboration with design, stress, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Ideal candidates have aerospace welding background with knowledge of GTAW, EBW, PAW, LBW, and heat treatment processes, along with relevant AWS/AMS/MIL-SPEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of related material process engineering experience; graduate degree or equivalent with 0–2 years; or 8+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in aerospace welding engineering with process qualification and production support.
• Experience with fusion welding processes and heat treatment for aerospace materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and optimize welding processes for aerospace metallic components.
• Support production welding operations and drive continuous improvement.
• Author welding process specs, WPS, and PQRs per AWS, AMS, MIL-SPEC.
• Assist brazing process development and qualification activities.
• Interface with suppliers for welding approvals and source qualification.
