Job summary

Accounting Search seeks a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to lead manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, digital manufacturing, and NPI for aerospace components. This hands-on leadership role guides complex parts from customer drawings through first article and into production, delivering improved readiness and reduced lead times while building a high-performing technical team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of progressively responsible experience in aerospace, defense, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing.
Strong CATIA manufacturing and CAM workflows expertise, including production programming and process development.
Experience with VERICUT or equivalent NC verification and machine simulation tools.
Experience leading NPI, first-article activities, manufacturing readiness, or production launches for complex metallic components.
Advanced understanding of CNC machining, multi-axis process development, tooling, fixtures, workholding, and controlled program release.
Knowledge of GD&T, CMM inspection, on-machine probing, special processes, process validation, and AS9100 environments.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities with customer deadlines, material constraints, and machine capacity.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with operators, programmers, customers, and senior leadership.
Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Eligibility to access export-controlled technical data as required.

Responsibilities

Lead Manufacturing Engineering and CNC programming, translating drawings and CATIA models into production-ready processes.
Guide milling, turning, multi-axis strategies for aerospace components; establish CAM standards and postprocessors.
Strengthen CNC verification using VERICUT and maintain accurate machine and fixture models.
Lead NPI from design transfer to first article acceptance and production launch.
Develop multiyear digital manufacturing roadmap, standards, libraries, and automation concepts.
Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, IT to improve manufacturing performance.
Set priorities, drive accountability, and mentor the engineering team.
Serve as customer-facing technical leader for manufacturability, validation, and corrective actions.
